- 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
- 1 cup sliced bell peppers (mixed colors)
- 1 medium sweet onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 large lettuce leaves (romaine or butter)
- ½ cup Cheese Whiz or 4 oz provolone cheese slices
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers; sauté until softened and slightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes).
- Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the meat is browned (around 3-5 minutes).
- Lower the heat and add Cheese Whiz or provolone cheese on top of the meat mixture. Cover briefly until melted (1-2 minutes).
- While cheese melts, wash and dry lettuce leaves. Arrange them on a platter.
- Spoon the cheesy steak mixture into each lettuce leaf. Serve immediately.
