Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp pure peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and oil until smooth. Pour into prepared dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  3. Poke holes all over cooled cake using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, peppermint extract, and cocoa powder until smooth. Pour over the cake so it seeps into the holes.
