  • ½ cup unsalted butter (browned)
  • 8 fresh sage leaves
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Gradually add warm milk, browned butter, and eggs; stir until combined.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl and cover. Let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  3. Meanwhile, melt additional butter over medium heat; add sage leaves and sauté until crispy.
  4. Punch down risen dough, divide into balls, and dip in sage brown butter mixture before placing in a greased baking pan.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Brush with remaining brown butter before serving.
