- 3–4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts (about 1 lb)
- 1 cup BBQ Sauce
- 8 oz Macaroni Pasta
- 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Whole Milk
- 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- ¼ cup All-Purpose Flour
- ½ tsp Onion Powder
- ½ tsp Garlic Powder
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs (for topping)
- Additional Cheese (Optional)
Instructions
- Boil salted water in a large pot and cook macaroni until al dente; drain.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat, season chicken with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown (6-7 minutes per side). Shred the chicken.
- In the same skillet, melt more butter; whisk in flour. Gradually add milk while stirring until thickened (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in cheddar cheese until melted, then mix in onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and BBQ sauce.
- Fold cooked macaroni and shredded chicken into the cheese mixture until well-coated.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish; top with breadcrumbs and additional cheese if desired. Bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes until bubbly.
