  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp arrowroot powder or cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together coconut milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until smooth.
  2. In a small bowl, mix arrowroot powder with a few tablespoons of cold coconut milk until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the thickener to the warm chocolate mixture while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and optional chocolate chips until melted.
  5. Pour into serving dishes, cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
