  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp espresso powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
