- 1 medium head of cabbage (approximately 1.5 lbs), chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, cooked
- 2 cups quality canned tomato sauce
- 2 tsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in cooked rice, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian herbs; let simmer for about five minutes.
- In an oven-safe baking dish, layer half of the chopped cabbage on the bottom. Top with half of the meat mixture, then add the remaining cabbage and meat mixture on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool slightly before serving.
