  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen green peas
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ cup whole milk (or plant-based milk)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by chopping onions and carrots into small pieces.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes). Stir occasionally.
  3. Add the chopped onions, carrots, garlic, thyme, and rosemary. Cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Mix in Worcestershire sauce along with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Boil peeled potatoes until fork-tender (15-20 minutes). Drain and mash with butter and milk until smooth.
  6. Layer the meat mixture in a baking dish and spread mashed potatoes on top, creating texture with a fork.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
