- 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground meat until fully cooked.
- Add chopped onions and bell peppers to the skillet; sauté until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in chili powder, garlic powder, diced tomatoes (with juice), milk, salt, pepper, and half of the cheddar cheese. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Fold cooked macaroni into the skillet mixture until combined.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish, top with remaining cheese, and bake for 20 minutes until bubbly.
