- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- Milk (as needed for glaze consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Gradually add iced water until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll out half the dough onto a floured surface and place in a greased baking pan.
- Combine chopped strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla in a bowl.
- Spread the strawberry mixture over the dough base. Roll out remaining dough and cover the filling.
- Cut slits on top for steam to escape and brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Cool before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk.
