  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (plus extra for brushing)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for icing
  • 2 tbsp milk for icing

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Whisk in sugar, melted butter, and apple cider until mixed.
  3. Gradually add flour while stirring until a sticky dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking pan.
  7. Cover rolls and let rise again for about 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. While cooling slightly, mix powdered sugar with milk to create icing consistency and drizzle over rolls.
