- 1 cup Honeycrisp apples (about 1 medium apple), peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, diced
- 1 egg mixed with 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until coated.
- Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick; cut into circles.
- Place dough circles in muffin tins or ramekins; fill with apple mixture and dot with butter.
- Top with another dough circle; cut small slits for steam vents.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving.
