Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk and sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle yeast over top and let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well; add melted butter, activated yeast mixture, and eggs. Stir until combined.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal pieces. Shape each piece into buns.
  6. Arrange shaped buns on greased baking sheets; cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake buns for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For the glaze, mix honey with melted butter while the buns bake; brush over warm buns immediately after removing from the oven.
