Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with sugar and sprinkling the yeast over it. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, honey, eggs, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir gently.
  3. Gradually add flour while mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape into golf ball-sized balls. Arrange on a greased baking sheet close together.
  6. Cover again and let rise for an additional 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for approximately 20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For the glaze, whisk together melted butter and honey, brushing generously over warm buns upon removal from the oven.
