  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg
  • Oil for frying (enough for about 2 inches in the pan)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg. Beat until smooth.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick; cut into squares or circles.
  3. Place a tablespoon of cheesecake mixture in the center of each pastry piece and seal well.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry pastries in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Drain excess oil on paper towels before serving warm.
