Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine red velvet cake mix, 2 eggs, and oil until smooth. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. While the base cools, beat cream cheese and sugar in another bowl until creamy. Gradually mix in sour cream and the remaining 2 eggs until well blended.
  4. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled red velvet base and spread evenly. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired.
  5. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until set. Let cool completely before refrigerating for at least 3 hours before slicing.
