- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed) for the topping
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon for the topping
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) for the topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tray with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until combined.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, and eggs until smooth. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts for the topping.
- Fill each muffin cup two-thirds full with batter and sprinkle the topping generously on each muffin.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
