  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Place chicken thighs in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight).
  3. Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken and sear for about 6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
  4. Remove chicken from the skillet and let it rest. Pour the remaining marinade into the skillet, simmer to thicken while scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  5. Slice chicken and drizzle with the sauce before serving.
