- 2 lbs Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a large baking dish with butter.
- Thinly slice the potatoes to about 1/8-inch thickness.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Whisk in heavy cream, seasoning with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Pour half of the cream sauce over them and sprinkle with half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
