  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; drain.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into small meatballs.
  4. Brown meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until crusted on all sides (about 8 minutes).
  5. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta with marinara sauce.
  6. Layer half of the saucy pasta in a baking dish, followed by half of the meatballs. Repeat layers.
  7. Top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
