Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pistachios)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup honey
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk with active dry yeast and sugar. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in melted butter, egg, salt, and gradually add flour to form a shaggy dough. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Meanwhile, mix chopped nuts with cinnamon and honey in a separate bowl.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter over it and sprinkle the nut mixture evenly on top. Roll tightly into a log and slice into pieces.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange buns in a greased pan, cover for another 30 minutes to rise before baking for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
