  • 4 oz thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Instructions

  2. In the same skillet with leftover grease, sauté the diced onion until translucent (about 4 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  4. Stir in rice and beef broth; bring to a simmer and cover. Cook on low heat for about 15 minutes until rice is tender.
  5. Mix in ketchup and mustard until well combined. Sprinkle cheese on top and cover to melt (about 2 minutes).
