Description

Indulge in this easy Shepherd’s Pie, a comforting blend of savory ground beef and creamy mashed potatoes, perfect for family dinners or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, finely chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Stir occasionally until golden brown.
  2. Add the diced onions and carrots; cook for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; simmer gently while scraping any browned bits from the pan.
  4. Boil the peeled potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (15-20 minutes). Drain and mash with butter and milk until creamy.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes, creating swirls for texture.
  6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
