Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add broccoli florets to the boiling pasta.
  3. Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  5. Add drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet; toss gently.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and reserved pasta water; stir until well combined.
  7. Gradually mix in Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving hot.
